MUNICH - The BC Munich team, led by Lütfi Cenet and Kostas Kokkoris, has pushed up its lead in the German bundesliga. With an 8-0 win in the away match playing BC Stuttgart, the leader is 4 points ahead now followed by BC International and 7 ahead of BCC Witten and BC Magdeburg even with one match less played. The 10th and 11th round were hampered by the Masters in Holland, meaning that the Dutch players were not available. Only Dave Christiani played on Sunday and won for his team BCC Witten against Martin Horn 40-31 in 21 innings. Peter Ceulemans was one of the stars in the double weekend.
BC München thanks the generous lead after this weekend to Lütfi Cenet, who beat Gökhan Salman (40-29 in 29) and Kostas Kokkoris (win against Lukas Stamm 40-24 to 21). Johann Schirmbrand and Christos Christodoulidis completed the maximum win with victories in 31 and 29 innings. BC International played a draw against BC Nied on Saturday (Michael Nilsson-Martin Horn 35-40 in 26) and lost to BCC Witten on Sunday.
BCC Witten had an excellent weekend with victories over BC Magdeburg 6-2 and BC International 5-3 on Sunday. The team therefore moved up to third place. Ronny Lindemann shone with a victory over Dion Nelin (40-28 in 18).
BC Magdeburg missed its leading player Dick Jaspers, who became Dutch champion for the 21st time this weekend, but had a strong Omer Karakürt in the line-up. The Turk won against Jose-Maria Mas and Murat Gökman in 18 and 19 innings. Nevertheless, Magdeburg lost to Witten 6-2 and played a draw against Nied 4-4 (Nillson-Nelin 34-40 in 20).
Peter Ceulemans had a super weekend playing two of his country men: he won against Martin Spoormans 40-12 in 13 (best match of the bundesliga weekend) on Saturday and against Ronny Brants 40-24 in 24 on Sunday with a run of 13.
