New rules and schedule for German leagues have been launched

KOZOOM - The 'Deutsche Billard Union', DBU, has presented the rules and conditions for the new billiard season. First of all: the publication is a positive sign to all players, clubs, coaches and fans that the federation is ready for the new start. Reminder: On March 12, the 2019/2020 season ended when the COVID 19 pandemic spread. The Bundesliga was stopped after the first half, the German championships were cancelled early, the World Championship for nation teams in Viersen was finally cancelled on the second attempt. Billiard life in Germany, Europe and the rest of the world has been stopped for months. We are now almost 5 months further and there is a forecast at the DBU organization how autumn should look like.

One of the spearheads of the German billiards federation is undoubtedly the 1st and 2nd 3-cushion Bundesliga, which regularly deliver highlights with their stars and gain international respect. We should note that two of the world records that are still running were set on German soil as part of the Bundesliga. Eddy Merckx played a match in Fehrbach to 50 points in 6 innings (8,333 average) and Dick Jaspers played 40 points in 4 innings in Magdeburg in a Bundesliga match.

The new start is scheduled for September 19, the first match day.

The most important summaries:

X Games in the 1st Bundesliga are played to 50 points.

X Matches in the 2nd Bundesliga to 40 points.

X Playtime in both leagues to 30 seconds.

x 4 timeouts per game.

The 30 second rule has been introduced by the UMB and CEB to get more attractive .
matches for television broadcasts. The rule, so far, has been criticized by players and clubs in the Bundesliga.
